28-08-10 Saddell Abbey Wedding
The Abbey was the location chosen by one of the King boys for a spectacular wedding ceremony to his American girlfriend Misha.
Graeme King the eldest son of Frank and Janetta from Waterfoot, Carradale (and Rutherglen) and Misha Hall were married by the Rev John Harris (Bearsden and Waterfoot).
Graeme, and his now wife live and work over in Washington DC.They decided to get married over here and many of his American friends came over for the great occasion. What a colourfull occasion it was, something different and the setting within the ruins of the Abbey. The weather was a bit iffy in the morning, but cleared away as the service was about to start and the sun coming out.Afterwards all hands made their way by bus back to Carradale for the wedding buffet and ceildh dance to Whirlypit in the Carradale Village Hall. The next day Waterfoot was alive with people who attended a grand BBQ at the Kings residence. In all a great weekend was had by all, and especially his American friends whom loved the area and the hospitality of the locals.

Thank you CARRADALE

As one of the Americans who attended Misha and Graeme's wedding, I
thank all of you for making the event so special and truly fabulous!
We had a great time and we're looking forward to meeting you all
again. Thanks to Graeme's family for their hospitality, to our new
friends Dodi and Argyll for teaching us how to drink like true Scots,
to our new fishermen friends who let us bother them while they were
trying to unload the catch of the day, the bakers in the shop who let
us into the kitchen to look at their big oven, and to everyone living
in Carradale for just being so warm and welcoming. Come to Washington
so that we can return the hospitality!

Cheers and XOXO,
Erica Wissolik.
