Carradale AFC's match against Campbeltown Utd yesterday evening was abandoned following a sickening injury and numerous transgressions by the town side. Iain 'Glow' Galbraith fell to a very hard tackle which left him with a badly broken leg that seems certain to keep him out of the game for the rest of the year. The ambulance had barely left the scene when another Carradale player had the shirt literally torn from his back and others went down to further vicious attacks from the Campbeltown side as the referee lost all control of the game. A touch-line meeting of Carradale's players and officials resulted in the village team walking away from the match. As the players left the field a voice was heard to shout "That's another 3 points" - a stunningly insensitive remark which seemed to sum-up Campbeltown's attitude on the night: to win at all costs. We understand Iain Galbraith remains in hospital awaiting surgery on his leg and we wish him well and hope for a speedy recovery, as we do for Carradale's other players who face Davaar AFC next weekend.
