The immortal words of Private Baldrick from series 4 of Blackadder might well be prophetic unless a certain avian visitor finds its way home again soon.
This rather nice dove has been hanging around our house for the last couple of days. At first glance it looks like a common rock dove but a closer look reveals it has rings on both legs, suggesting it is more likely a racing or show pigeon. It's quite tame but not so tame as to let anyone get close enough to catch it.
If anyone has lost a pigeon recently then take a close look at the rings in the picture below. The red ring includes the numbers 1197 but I can't quite see what's on the green one. Hopefully someone will claim it before one of our cats does...
