From the Arts Guild Thearte Greenock. As mentioned in the previous blogs Carradale won through at Campbeltown to the Western Divisional Final at Greenock. They had some support with them on that night but they were up against some stiff opposition and more proffesional players and unfortunately they were unsuccessfull this time round. Nine clubs in all performed over the three nights, Carradale on the last night Saturday and in the same group as the winners Crossmichael Drama Club (see programme) who now go forward to Pitlochry in April. There was some other excellant plays also through the three nights. Not to be down hearted as we all know they are good, they can now look forward to performing at Ardrishaig (April) and Carradale after that..The dates I shall post.To the left is the programme page of Saturday nights performers. One request from the club, they are in need of male members as the last one Donald MacAlister Hall has now retired but still helps out as with his wife Mary, so if you are interested please contact anyone of the group. From: Torrisdale castle Re: 28-03-10 Drama Club Update When I first read your comments on my retiral!!!! I thought you were trying an April Fool until I saw the date. I would just like to say there is no truth in the rumour! There is still life in the old dog yet!. Yes we do need more males in the club specially for the younger roles, but I won't be retiring as long as I can climb on to the stage!!!!!!!!!!!!! Donald [My apologies Donald, the April Fool backfired on me.We hope there's many years yet of you jumping about the stage like a spring lamb. Cheers JD] |
