26-09-06 Ducking the Issue
Not surprisingly, the Duck Race held last weekend was won by: A DUCK!

Congratulations to the prize winners. Duck number 208 was the overall winner, although there were one or two cries of "Fowl!" amid rumours that one duck may have had its feathers clipped.

The event was well-supported with plenty of people braving the slightly cool and damp weather to enjoy the BBQ, stalls, bouncy castle, pony rides, face-painting, and lining the banks of the river for the race itself.

A high tide combined with recent rain meant that the water was lapping the banks in some places, but unlike last year, there was no accompanying wind to make the ducks work too hard.
[The Winner!]

[The good ship Ticketty Boo]It was good to see regular visitor to the village Gordon back for the weekend and a spot of fishing.

Gordon's family have been visiting Carradale for many years - sometimes by road and sometimes by sea - but sad to learn that the Yellow Submarine's days may be numbered and that he's looking for a new boat.
