It transpires that someone he considered a friend has been spreading malicious gossip about him to other people in the village and when confronted about it things got out of hand. Of course, it was Lawrence who got caught. I'll be discussing the matter with his head teacher on Monday when he returns to school after a few days cooling-off. Onto pleasanter things, it was a glorious morning in Carradale today. The sun was shining and it was quite warm and very pleasant down on the beach. A fitting reward after the weeks of battering the weather has been giving us and I spotted the first of the snowdrops beside the path down to the beach - a sure sign that spring is on the way.
