|A great win for Carradale AFC against Northend Thistle AFC in this weekend's second leg of the Kilbrannan Quaich competition.
The Arran team travelled across to Carradale for the match which would decide who holds the trophy for the next year.
Several people commented upon how much improved the Arran team's game was and that they'd really come on since last year's competition which Carradale won 14-3.
Both teams were tenacious in their attempts to gain and keep control of the ball, with both keepers being kept busy.
The Northend Thistle goalkeeper was laid low early on when the ball hit him soundly in the groin but he pulled himself together and bravely limped back to his goal to continue the match.
Carradale's goals, in order, came from: Alan Robertson, Gregor Croll, Greg Paterson, Donnie Lawson, Charles Charleswood, and Gregor Croll. Well done lads!
It was good to see that the Campbeltown Courier's photographer up for the first half of the match, and I'm told the Arran Voice were also represented.
Our own photos are, of course, available in the Picture Galleries section, under Football Photos.
