An interesting website has been causing a bit of a stir in educational circles. The Rate My Teachers website provides a mechanism whereby students and pupils can give performance ratings to the teachers in their schools.

Of course this has raised much controversy amongst teachers with some supporting the site and others villifying it.

It has even gone so far as for Argyll & Bute Council to order it to be blocked at their firewall, preventing staff and pupils from accessing it whilst at school.

Interestingly enough most of the comments that have been added to Campbeltown and Tarbert secondary schools have been very positive about the teachers there. Carradale's primary school has yet to receive a rating.

Paul Gilliver has emailed us to ask if he can put a link to the Carradale webcam onto his own site: UK & Ireland Weather Webcams.

Paul's website lists the locations and links to nearly a hundred webcams scattered across the British Isles and which provide an indication of the prevailing weather conditions at each location. We're delighted to be listed on Paul's site and can thoroughly recommend it as somewhere to visit when you fancy a look about the country.

Anyone looking at the Carradale webcam these last few days will have seen bright, sunny weather and the forecast is for this to carry on, for a few days at least. The wind has been chilly though, as I found out today when I took a stroll up onto Cnoc na Dippen to get some new photo's of the village. These will appear on the website shortly.
