20-08-04 RNLI Fund-raising in Carradale
A very pleasant day was had by all in Carradale Harbour this weekend as the village hosted this year's annual fun day in aid of the RNLI. The local fire engine turned-out, as did the Coastguard, and there were assorted games and refreshments to be had.
The stars of the show, however, were the lifeboats who called in at the harbour for visitors to tour the boats.
The RNLB Ernest & Mary Shaw 17-19 is based at Campbeltown and was expected but the RNLB Dora Foster McDougall 14-24 was a surprise visitor. She was en route from the Isle of Man where she had been serving as a relief boat and just happened to meet the Campbeltown lifeboat en-route for Carradale. (Pictures in the gallery section.)
All in all an excellent day with even the sun putting in an appearance.
