Well done to Josie and Irene who walked from Crinan to Ardrishaig yesterday morning, along the banks of the Crinan Canal, as part of this year's Dawn Patrol to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness. It took them just over 5 hours and they raised nearly £900 for the charity. Both Josie and Irene will be familiar faces to anyone who goes to The Glen Bar in Carradale as they both work there. The same afternoon the football team raffled a signed Rangers shirt and raised another £250+, this time going to the Fishermen's Mission. Well done everyone who supported both of these very worthwhile causes. Carradale AFC were playing earlier in the afternoon with a match against Davaar AFC as part of the new Campbeltown & District AFL. It was a good match, despite the rain, with both sides scoring 4 goals for a draw. | |
Penny and Sue at The Glen Bar have pushed the boat out and installed a TV projector. You can now watch the World Cup matches on a massive 8ft x 4ft screen and I gather they'll be opening specially for tomorrow night's match (Tuesday). |
