18-11-05 Freezing Friday
It was clear and cold again last night but today followed stunningly sunny yet quite chilly. Walking the dog on the beach earlier at high tide, the sea was a deep blue and Buzzards were quartering the fields behind the dunes.



On the recent topic of Robert the Bruce, Colin Burgess has kindly sent a photo of the plaque that is attached to Carradale House.

It records that the very stone onto which Robert the Bruce stepped when he landed at Port Righ is incorporated into the fabric of the house. Quite an amazing link with history.



There's a Whist Drive on Friday 25 November 2005 in Carradale village hall. All are welcome.

The following day, Saturday 26 November 2005, Carradale AFC have a match against themselves when the Under 25s play the Over 25s up at the Wellpark. Kick-off is set for 1pm.

Campbeltown's Christmas Lights will be switched on next week, on Thursday, 24 November 2005. The entertainment starts at 6:30pm with the parade leaving McCallum Street at 7pm, and the light being switched on at 7:30pm.

According to Campbeltown Trading Association there will be 'Floats Galore, Mounted Police, Santa in his Grotto, Brass Band, Pipe Bands, Late Night Shopping, and Christmas Capers".



The Red Cross are holding a 'Soup and Roll' lunch at their Campbeltown Kirk Street centre on Friday 25 November 2005 between 12 noon and 2pm in aid of the Asian Earthquake Appeal. Soup is £1, a roll is £1, and there is also a raffle.
