We said farewell to Torbin and Alison tonight in The Glen Bar as they leave the village to take up jobs in the far flung reaches of darkest Yorkshire.

Both being victims of the recent closure of the Contact 4 call-centre in Campbeltown, they start in their new jobs next week.

His only fear, he says, is that his new employer will make him get a haircut!

Torbin, of course, is keen on his sport being both an optimistic Preston North End supporter and a stalwart of the fledgling Carradale Cricket Club.

Torbin's parents still live in the village, of course, and we're assured of frequent return visits.
