11-09-05 Back from Arran
Yesterday's trip across to Lochranza, on the Isle of Arran, was a great success with a 7-3 win for Carradale AFC against newly formed Arran team Northend Thistle.

The match was packed with action. Carradale's goals came from Travis Tiffen (2), Alastair McGeaghy, Rixon, Robertson, and Robbie Paterson, with Northend helping out with an own-goal.

Carradale's supporters outnumbered those from Arran which must have been a bit of a disappointment for the home team, whose tremendous hospitality both before and after the match deserves recognition, as does that of the Lochranza Hotel where we enjoyed pre and post-match refreshments.

New photos from the match are in the football section.

Love your site,my wife and I visit from Canada every two years and stay with her cousin in Jedburgh in the borders.

We first came to Carradale in 1992 and stayed in the chalets at the caravan park.I work in Toronto and I feel once I get to Carradale it is so tranquil. My wife was born in the borders and I was born in Liverpool but my dad was a chief engineer on the ships, he was born in Aberdeen so I am half and half. Prefer the Scottish side though.

Everytime we come it cost me a ring at the goldsmith, stayed at his cottage when over this year. Retire in two years, hope to come over and live there.

Anyway great site love your pics, by the way love meeting Ian at the hotel as he does his rounds.
