11-04-06 Seal Watching
[Seals at Torrisdale]As Springtime draws on the number and variety of the wildlife around Carradale continues to increase. Yesterday on the beach at Torrisdale we counted 14 seals in the water with six more basking on the rocks below Woodbine Cottage by Eilean Leathan.

In addition to the Chaffinches, recent visitors to our garden feeders include Siskins, Bullfinches, Pied Wagtails, and the occasional Robin, and a pair of Buzzards have returned to the field behind our house.

Unfortunately our cats are taking a toll on the wildlife with birds, rodents and the odd rabbit being brought home. C'est la vie.

Visitors to the webcam yesterday will have seen that the sheep and lambs have been moved off and the field ploughed in readiness for seed drilling.

Meanwhile Carradale AFC won last weekends away match against a team from The Gluepot in Campbeltown with 2 goals against 1. Congratulations to Archie and John MacCallum.
