10-04-06 Texas Scramble
[Carradale Golf Club]Just a few days to go before the unfurling of Carradale Golf Club's Centenary Flag on Saturday, 15 April 2006 at 1pm. This will be followed by a Mixed Texas Scramble competition with a shotgun start.

Teams of four - any combination of ladies, gents or juniors - can sign-up by addingtheir names to the forms at the usual watering holes about the village.

Entry is £2.50 per person and there will be prizes not just for the best team but also for the best team name. Prize-giving will be immediately after the match.

Sorry about the lack of entries lately but I've been away in deepest, darkest England visiting family and customers. Back again now though and it was interesting to see how in just a short space of time there are quite a few more visitors about the village.

Carradale receives visitors all through the year, of course, but it is during the spring and summer months that most of them come to enjoy the beach and spectacularly unspoilt counctryside.

Later this year will see the opening of The Kintyre Way, an 89 mile footpath stretching from Tarbert to Southend. The official opening date is 10 June 2006 and a lot of people have worked hard over a number of years to develop and establish the walk. Interestingly it doesn't appear to be universally welcomed on Kintyre and you can follow the debate on the Kintyre Forum.
