09-11-12 Report From Network Carradale Ltd
[The Carradale Goat]Network Tearoom and Activity Centre Open Day

As we are all aware Jose provided a splendid service to the community from the Network Tearoom and, to her credit, she did so from an old building which is now showing its age albeit that with the assistance of The Windfarm Trust a new roof was installed earlier in the year. Parts of the building, however, are nothing short of dangerous with rotten flooring in places and there is a fear that some of the floor joists may also need to be replaced. New windows are required, the toilet facilities and kitchen area itself need upgraded and white goods, appliances etc need replacement. The anticipated cost is in the region of £15,000 although that figure includes an element of voluntary labour. The Directors recently applied to Awards for All and have been awarded a grant of £10,000 towards this cost and by the time this Antler goes to press it is hoped a contribution will also have been sanctioned by The Windfarm Trust. Hopefully, therefore, the Directors will soon be in a position to proceed with the refurbishment to ensure that the tearoom will again be open for business next Spring.

The Directors are holding an Open day at The Network Centre on 25th November when tea, coffee and shortbread will be available. Why not come along between 2pm and 4pm to see one of the electric buggies for the less mobile and hear the plans for the Tearoom and the Activity Centre.
