08-10-05 The Minke is Gone
And so the Minke whale was removed from Carradale Beach yesterday afternoon with the assistance of a large excavator and a big truck, and taken away to Lochgilphead for disposal.

I gather he weighed-in at around 7 tons.

I've been sent several photographs of the recovery process which are now in the 'Whale Pictures' section. (Thanks to Colin Burgess and Johnny Durnan for those.)
