07-02-05 Submarine Ahoy
I spotted a submarine this morning whilst heading down to Campbeltown. It was on the surface and on a line roughly between Peninver and Ailsa Craig.
It was a good way out so no details were discernable but through binoculars it was easy to make out the conning tower (sail) and tall tail fin as the waves lashed against her. Presumably it was a Royal Navy boat en route for Faslane.
With a moderate swell on the sea today it can't have been very comfortable for the submariners on board.
