An unfortunate result for the football team this afternoon as Carradale AFC lost by three goals to nil against Southend AFC. Heavy rain during the night had left the pitch quite soft and despite plenty of action and several near misses Carradale weren't able to get on the scoreboard. Better luck next match.
	It was good to see so many people making use of The Kintyre Way, with several groups passing the field whilst the match was in progress. The Kintyre Way is Scotland's newest long-distance footpath, running from Tarbert in the north to Southend in the south - the full length of the Kintyre peninsula. Walkers coming down off of Deer Hill pass right by Wellpark Field. As they reach the road opposite the school they have a choice of turning left towards The Carradale Hotel or right towards The Glen Bar & Restaurant - both of which offer excellent food and drink to help ease those aches and pains.
