The fire crew would like to thank the generosity and support of the public. Thanks to Ruth from the CAMPBELTOWN COURIER. TWO charities have benefited from the effort of Carradale’s fire fighters. The volunteer fire unit donated £360 to Anthony Nolan and £250 to the family support trust for Strathclyde Fire and Rescue last week. The money for Anthony Nolan was raised through the delivery of Christmas cards throughout the village and surrounding areas. The family support trust’s donation was raised through collection cans throughout the village. Group commander Stuart McLean thanked everyone who made the donations: ‘This is an excellent effort by all concerned and are marvellous donations for two worthwhile charities.’ Strathclyde Fire and Rescue is offering free smoke alarms and home fire safety visits for anyone in the village. To take advantage of this please contact the fire station, telephone 0800 0731 999, text ‘check’ to 61611, or visit the Strathclyde Fire and Rescue website.
