Michael Foreman and Tony Leighton put on a splendid talk and slide show on their past sailing adventure across the Atlantic competing in the ARC SERIES aboard Michaels yacht Blue Tarn.
The hall was decorated with all the flags of the visited ports and also on display was a variety of equipment and navigational aids,information brochures,some lovely shells and coral from the exotict islands they visited on route.
Taking turns in giving an account of the trip from when they left Campbeltown and till they returned kept all the audience amused.There wives shared part of the experience when they flew out to meet the boys and stayed for 4 weeks sailing from island to island then flying home.
The boys then made the return sail home. The boys thanked their wives (Moira and Margaret) for all the help they did in passing information via satellite on the likes of weather forecasts and so on.
The added delight of the night was a wee rum toast for all from Tony and Mike and the excellant spread of sandwiches, cakes, teas, coffee laid on by the Ladies Guild. A really good nights show and applauded by all.
