From the start strong winds were a problem for both teams, together with a short shower of rain during the first half.
Southend scored first and proceeded to consolidate their lead until Carradale's Gregor Croll pulled back a goal before half time.
Despite several good opportunities they were unable to improve upon the score in the second half as Southend extended their lead still further.
When the final whistle blew there was no doubt that the winners deserved their trophy, putting Southend's name on the cup alongside Carradale's from last year.
