26-05-07 Navy Calls
HMS Campbeltown (F86) made a brief visit to her home town yesterday, primarily to re-fuel at the NATO pier but also to hand-over some cheques to local charities.
I wasn't able to get down to the town myself to see her but Dave Hobson kindly sent this photo of her in Campbeltown Loch.
She's a Type 32 Frigate, launched in 1987, and has seen service all over the world and has her own section on the Royal Navy website where you'll find all sorts of facts about the ship together with some great photos of the crew.
A search of the YouTube website also reveals the ship's own version of Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. I kid you not.
