25-05-06 Drive Friendly
One of the common topics for discussion, especially as the main tourist season approaches, is the standard of driving on the single-track road to the north of Carradale.

There are ample passing places but many visitors, often with a caravan in-tow, either don't seem to notice them or realise what they are for. If you are visiting Kintyre then please keep an eye on your rear view mirror and if you see a car approaching at greater speed than your own please make way at the first opportunity.

The situation isn't helped by a widespread lack of 'Passing Place' signs and is a topic regularly raised at EKCC meetings. It's the county council's responsibility to erect and maintain these signs, as is the cutting of the verges, but no doubt the'll blame budgetary constraints as the reason why this particular problem hasn't been addressed.
