21-01-13 The History of Carradale
A talk by Christine Ritchie.
Carradale and Saddell residents were treated to a talk on the history of Carradale at an open night on January 14th in the Village hall.
Christine Ritchie,a local lass,was the guest speaker,giving a talk on"Old Carradale - How do we think it was?"

The event was organised by Saddell & Carradale Church Guild.The talk focused on changes in the area since the 1700's,including the changes at Waterfoot and of the building of the pier in carradale.

Christine showed old photos and copies of old maps,which her late father had collected throughout his life.
An audience of around 90 turned up for the talk and slide show which included at the end tea,coffee,sandwiches and lovely homebaking i presume made by the guild ladies.Everyone got chatting pondering over the photos and maps on display, an excellant night had by all.....thanks to Christine and her late father Duncan for his input.
