16-11-04 Wet and windy weather
The roofers have done a decent job at patching-up the roof of the house - it now only leaks in two places, and they're not very bad. Roll on next year and a completely new roof!
The horizontal rain lately has found its way inside some of the weather-boarding covering some of the closed-up windows though. The wood looks to be completely rotten though so it's going to be simplest to simply pull it down and replace it - with decent, treated timber this time!
These are the joys of buying an old house, and a peculiar one at that! Maintenance has been sadly lacking for some years by the looks of things so we knew it needed some TLC. We're waiting for quotes for windows and things so once they're in and the weather improves we can get started on some of the outside jobs.
