Sadly Keith passed away in the early hours today.We shall always remember him as one of the partners who built the Glen Bar and Restaurant and was run by the Campbell family (D Campbell and Co) very successfully for many years before they retired and sold on the business.Keith,a smile on his face as always pictured on Remebrance Day a few years back and this April outside the Glen Bar and Restuarant were I met him on one of his daily walks.Our deepest condolences to Moira,Michael,Walter and the rest of the family at this sad time.He shall be missed by many in the village and further afield.Happy days years gone by in the Glen will not be forgotten,they built up a great friendship with their staff,customers and visitors alike and these memories will last forever.

It was with great sadness that I read in this morning's Herald of the death of Keith Campbell. Having been brought up just along the road from Keith and the Campbell family until moving away in 1951 it was always a pleasure when home on leave or whatever to meet Keith and have a crack with him about this and that and to find him, as always, immaculately turned out (I never found him any other way as long as I can remember!)
When thoughts turn, as they very frequently do, to my Carradale childhood Keith and the Campbell family loom large and if ever there was a great ambassador for Carradale it was Keith, unfailingly pleasant and genuinely pleased to see another one time resident of the glen home for a few days.
It is a matter of real regret that, for reasons outwith my control, I will be unable to attend his funeral and to Moira, Walter and other members of the family I send my deepest condolences.
