Don't forget 60s and 70s Night at The Glen Bar tonight, from 7:30pm. Free admission, over 18s only. Free food. Fancy dress is optional. These party nights at The Glen are always a great night out.
What have I been up to today? Why is today's entry so late in the day? Well I've been over at Machrihanish on a surf kayaking course with Kintyre Canoeing Club and the SCA. The calm weather meant that the surf wasn't too wild but it was still more than enough to keen a beginner like myself busy. I'm quite chuffed with myself though as I only capsized twice.

Onto other matters, and there is to be a public meeting to discuss the future of the play park and football pitch. This will be on 17 May 2005 at 7:30pm. Meet at the Pavillion. The children's play park is a great resource for the village. My kids love it, but is beginning to show the signs of a few Kintyre winters. Nothing a lick of paint and a few nails can't put right though.

The adjacent Pavillion and football pitch are also in need of some remedial work and it would be a shame to see them fall any further into disrepair. Hopefully there'll be plenty of people turning out to lend a hand with whatever needs doing.
