Couple of excellant photos of Carradale school kids way back sent in by Lizzie, neice of (the late Ian McDonald...Puna from Portrigh).Lizzies mum, Ian's sister Betty looked out these old pics.Many in the photos may not be with us now,but if you can name anyone for Lizzie it would be much appreciated.
In the big class, Donald is second from teacher, in the back row and Ian is in the back row, 5th from the right.

The teacher is Miss Macpherson/Mrs John. She came to Carradale in the early twenties tempted by the isolation money and never left. She was very strict especially with her own daughter but is remembered fondly for the stories she read at the end of the day.
