Walter (ex Glen Bar and Restaurant,Carradale).A sad time for the Campbell family once again having lost their mother Rosamund just three weeks ago,then Walter passing away today in hospital,Glasgow.Walter with his wife Rosamund back in 1993 on a cruise aboard the Queen Elizabeth 2.Threesome buddies from the left Charlie McDougall, Walters brother the late Keith Campbell and Walter himself in the Glen bar a few years back having a wee dram and blether.

Sad to hear of the passing of Walter. As a young lad i always liked going to the Glen. Walter and Keith would always make you welcome and would chat away as if it was only days between visits.

It is such sad news that Walter has passed away so soon after losing his wife Rosamund. Walter was a lovely man, humorous, kind and generous, a wonderful character whom we will miss very much. Our deepest sympathy goes to his sons and the wider Campbell family who have been through so much in recent weeks.

It was with very great sadness that I read on the Goat of Walter’s death on Saturday. Tosh, as he was known to those of us fortunate enough to have grown up with him was, like the rest of the Campbell family, a very real friend to many and it was always a pleasure to meet him and have a crack about this and that and always have a laugh about something. I have fond memories of the glen in the 40’s whether it was sledging in deep snow on what is now known as Tosh’s Park or fishing in the burn at the Nursery Pool with Walter and others. Happy memories.
My wife and I send our deepest condolences to the family who have suffered grievously these past few weeks.

I was so sorry to hear of Walter’s death. It seems I’m losing so many of my friends and acquaintances recently in Carradale. Happy memories, though, from the early days of Keith, Walter and a very young Moira in the shop to more recent times having a chat on the golf course.

So sad to hear that Walter has passed away so soon after he lost his wife.Was stopping in their holiday cottage above the Network Centre many years ago that first introduced us to the charms of Carradale which has now become our regular holiday destination.

I’ve just heard the sad news of the passing of Walter and my condolences go to all the Campbell family.Walter as you all know had a great sense of humour and always referred to us as the Pontoon family. He will be sadly missed as will Keith also.
