Yes, it's time to drag your muddy old jalopy down to the fire station for its annual scrub-up. The crew of Carradale Fire Station are holding their annual car washing day on Saturday, 10 September 2005 at the station from 2pm. Proceeds to the FSNBF.



As if the turning of the leaves of the trees wasn't enough to remind you that autumn is fast upon us, there can be no doubt of the end of summer as The Glen Bar has reverted to its winter opening hours and is now closed on Tuesdays until next summer.



Their Past, Your Future 1945-20005 is the name given to a programme of three history trails presented by Kintyre Civic Society and 'Doors Open Day' illustrating the impact of the Second World War on Kintyre.

On Saturday, 17 September 2005 there will be a bus tour of sites around Campbeltown with WWII associations. Tours leave from the Tourist Information Office at 10am and 2:30pm, returning at 12:30pm and 5pm respectively.

On Sunday, 18 September 2005 there is a walking tour of Campbeltown, also visiting places with WWII associations. Tours leave from the Tourist Information Office at 10:30am and 2:30pm, returning at 12 noon and 4pm respectively.

Also on Sunday is a guided walk of military graves in Kilkerran Graveyard. Anyone wishing to go on this tour should meet at the graveyard gates at 2pm.

There is no charge for any of these tours but places must be pre-booked. Tickets can be obtained from 3 September 2005 at Campbeltown Public Library.

If there is sufficient interest it is hoped to repeat these walks on the 8/9 October 2005.
