02-11-08 Two men in a boat.
Carradale sailors now one month at sea.
Just a recap on our two local mariners from the October posting.
Tuesday was wet and dreary but that didn't stop Carradale's answer to Jerome K Jerome's classic tale taking to the water and embarking on an epic voyage.
Sailors Mike Foreman, Tony Leighton, and John McTaggart set out from Campbeltown Harbour in their yacht Blue Tarn bound, initially, for the Bay of Biscay and thence onwards the Canary Islands.
At Gran Canaria they'll join the "Atlantic Rally for Cruisers" and head off, with around 225 other yachts, for St Lucia and the warmer weather of the Caribbean.
The rally itself doesn't start until 23 November.
Well as of today our two locals Michael and Tony (John dropped out in Ireland) are on the high seas again heading for Madeira.Good luck to both of them on the next leg of their journey and hope the weather keeps up.
Check out their daily news and course on here http://blog.mailasail.com/bluetarn.
