24-05-06 Nice Weather For Ducks
We've had some lousy weather over the last few days. "Nice if you're a duck" someone commented to me, but in all honesty I doubt if even they were too happy with the hail yesterday.

It hasn't kept the garden birds from our feeders though, and I finally managed to get a shot of this Great Tit who has been a rather cautious visitor to our garden for a week or two now.

The sun came out at teatime today though so we went over to Torrisdale Beach where we watched the seals while the kids played on the rocks. The wind was a bit chilly but the sunshine was more than welcome after the dreary day we've had.

[The Network Centre]The Network Centre Tearoom re-opens this weekend after it's long winter closure, just in time for the PTA Fun Run on Saturday afternoon.

There has been some concern and speculation as to whether both funds and staff could be found to open the Network Centre this year but the very successful Italian Night a few weeks ago helped raise sufficient funds to get things rolling again.

The tearoom is popular with residents and villagers alike and many's the time I've enjoyed a restorative hot drink there after having been tramping through the woods with my family. I need to check opening times but once I have that I'll make sure there's a note of it here.
