In a small community such as Carradale there is always a bit of gossip going around, and this is probably a good moment to confirm one particular rumour.

Mrs Goat has developed itchy hooves and so we'll all be heading north later in the year; trip-trap, trip-trap...

Our intended destination is Kinlochbervie - the most northerly port on the west coast of Scotland - where she will be taking-up a new teaching post.

After a little bit of sprucing-up our house will be going onto the market, priced for a prompt sale. More news on that in due course.

Last night's quiz in The Glen Bar was very well attended, with ten teams taking part, split roughly 50/50 between residents and holidaymakers.

As I'm sure any of the visiting teams will confirm, you're not likely to come across another quiz quite like ours.

Competition was high with just ten points separating the first and last places. Scores were so tight, in fact, that a tie-breaker was required with teams Perfectly Chilled and Annual Returns both finishing with 43 points.

In the end it was the Annual Returns who took the top place but graciously donated some of their prize to Perfectly Chilled.
