| Ladies Club Championship report.|
Keeping up the tradition of her late father, Keith Campbell, who died in December 2011, Moira Foreman presented the Chris Campbell Memorial Trophy to Laura McGeachy after the Ladies Club Championship which took place over the weekend of 25/26 August.
Keith, always a keen supporter of Carradale Golf, had initially presented the beautiful trophies in memory of his late wife fifteen years ago, for the winning scratch score and handicap score in the annual Ladies Club Championship.
Laura continuing her winning streak has now been the Ladies Club Champion twelve times! Margaret Campbell won the Handicap Trophy. In addition to this, she also won a new trophy, The Senior Ladies Salver, after a suggestion by one of the younger members. The Ladies’ Captain, Dede Robertson paid tribute to Keith’s generosity and support, remarking how much he had loved being the guest of honour. She also thanked Robert Strang and his son Gareth who prepared the course in readiness for the Championship.
After all the scores were in for the twelve ladies who took part, the results are as follows:
Scratch : 1. Laura McGeachy 148
2. Marlene Walker 166
Handicap : 1. Margaret Campbell nett 136
2. Anne Storm nett 148
