Minke whale sighted in Carradale Bay by Johnny and Eila D. (Sunday, 10 July 2005)

Warm and sunny weather brought locals and holiday-makers alike down to the beach this week.

Mirror-calm conditions made it ideal for spotting the local wildlife such as this group of Harbour Porpoises seen off of Torrisdale Point, just outside of Carradale Bay.

Naturally inquisitive they came very close to the boat and at one point swam directly beneath it. Please note that it was they that came to us, rather than the other way around. When out watching wildlife like this it's important not to intrude too closely or harrass them.
